Urban Picnic part 1 - Hyde Park

Picnic blanket 150cm x 120cm
Recycled wool base, linen cotton mix fabric with freehand machine embroidery
waterproof backed

I didn't realise just how hard freehand embroidery on something this big was going to be and now am slightly regretting that I've set myself the task of this being one of 4 blankets based on London parks; St James', Richmond, Regent's Park to follow.

If you're quick this could be with you just in time to have a picnic and watch the Royal Wedding - and if not - well you could just have a picnic with some bunting out and relive the day!

Flags & Spaces

Long overdue my work room is in the process of a sort, tidy and shuffle. Am over the moon with my colour coded drawers - pink scraps in the pink drawer, blue in the blue blah blah blah and generally surprises in the plain ones! The room is now looking almost workable and I can even find scraps of fabric I never knew I had - if that isn't livin' I don't know what is......

We've just come home from Oxted, Toby and his friend Dara had a bunting making day at The Old Dairy Studios. I did wonder how on earth 3 year olds were going to make bunting but it was fab - they each got their triangles and got to decorate them and at the end each child's got sewn and they have really beautiful, original bunting for their room - such a lovely idea!

Toby deep in thought where to put the next foam flower.....

still deciding......

Ta-da! tis finished but Toby now has gone off with better things to do!
Thank you Jo, who runs The Old Dairy Studios - twas lovely!

Matchmaker Matchmaker...

I might not be in the Pink Ladies but lucky me I'm part of Designer/Makers a fab showcase of talent in the UK that also has a market every Saturday in East London. The site also has an online shop and I think its a concept that we've all been waiting for a truly valuable resource.

Really hard to choose a couple to show as it's such a good collection but here goes - go click on the site and see!

as someone with a snowdome collection obviously I was going to like this but have admired Rosie Wonders work for a long while.

Christa Davies childrens collection is beautiful

James Browns illustrations are just stunning - and oooh that's handy he's done the poster for the market so the details be there!
